Commission a Painting
Commission an original acrylic painting made just for you — portraits, family and couple paintings, personal artworks, decorative pieces, and larger custom projects for homes, offices and public spaces. Every commission begins with your story and your reference images, and ends with a one-of-a-kind painting from the studio in Dar es Salaam.
Prices shown are starting prices. A final quotation is provided after reviewing the client’s reference images, preferred size and project requirements.

Frequently asked questions.
How much does a commissioned portrait cost?
An 80 × 60 cm acrylic portrait starts from TZS 250,000 and a 100 × 70 cm portrait from TZS 350,000, each including one subject. Every additional subject in the same painting adds TZS 100,000. The final quotation depends on canvas size, detail and background complexity.
What counts as an additional subject?
Each person — or prominent figure such as a pet — included in the same painting beyond the first counts as an additional subject. A couple portrait, for example, includes two subjects. We confirm the exact count in your quotation.
Can I commission a painting in a custom size?
Yes. Sizes larger than 100 × 70 cm and fully custom dimensions are welcome. Prices increase in proportion to the canvas size and the complexity of the subject, so share your preferred dimensions and we will quote accordingly.
Can you combine people from different photographs?
Yes, when agreed in advance. Provide clear individual photographs of each person and note how you would like them arranged — we confirm what is achievable in the quotation.
Can I request a different background?
Absolutely. Describe the background you have in mind in your request. Detailed or complex backgrounds may affect the final price, which the quotation will reflect.
How long does a commission take?
It depends on the painting’s size, level of detail and the studio’s current schedule. Your quotation includes an estimated timeline, which begins once all reference materials are supplied and the advance payment is received.
Do you accept large corporate or institutional projects?
Yes. We take on office and hotel artwork packages, corporate collections, institutional commissions and public-space artwork. Use the quote form and select “Large project” to share your project scope.
Is framing included?
Yes — a floating frame is included in the pricing. Note that artwork shipped internationally rolled in a tube travels without the frame; framed delivery requires a larger custom package and a higher shipping charge, and re-framing at the destination is the client’s arrangement.
Do you deliver outside Dar es Salaam?
Yes. Local delivery can be arranged to other agreed locations in Tanzania, and we ship internationally by postal service or FedEx. Delivery and shipping costs are paid by the client and confirmed before dispatch.
Can I request changes after approving the quotation?
Minor adjustments within the agreed scope are part of the process. Changes outside the approved scope may attract additional charges and adjust the timeline, which we will confirm with you before proceeding.
Can I collect my painting from the studio?
Yes — studio pickup in Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam is free. We arrange a collection date and time in advance, and you inspect and confirm receipt of the artwork when you collect it.
Do you deliver within Dar es Salaam?
Yes. Local delivery is arranged after the artwork is completed. The charge depends on the destination, artwork size, packaging and transport requirements, and is confirmed before dispatch.
Who pays for local delivery?
Local delivery is at the client’s expense unless it is specifically included in your final quotation.
Do you ship paintings internationally?
Yes. International clients can choose shipping by postal service or by FedEx. Shipping is paid by the client and quoted once we know the destination, package size and weight.
How are international paintings packaged?
Where appropriate, the artwork is removed from its stretcher frame, carefully rolled, protected with suitable wrapping and packed inside a strong shipping tube. Framed or stretched artwork requires a larger custom package.
Can the painting be shipped in a tube?
Yes, where suitable — it is the most economical and secure way to ship a canvas. You may need to arrange re-stretching or framing after delivery, which most local framers can do.
Can you ship through FedEx?
Yes. We provide a FedEx shipping quotation based on your destination, package size and weight, and share tracking details after dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs clearance.
Who pays customs duties and import taxes?
Customs duties, import taxes and destination charges are the client’s responsibility for all international shipments.
Is international shipping included in the painting price?
No. Artwork prices include a floating frame, but do not include international shipping, customs duties, import taxes, re-stretching, re-framing after tube shipping or destination charges unless these are specifically included in your approved quotation.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes — we send dispatch confirmation and the available tracking details. For postal shipments, tracking availability depends on the selected postal service.
