Acceptance of these terms
By accessing this website, purchasing an artwork, commissioning a piece, enrolling in a class, or booking the studio, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
About us
Nias Nyalada Art Studio is an independent art studio based in Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We create and sell original artworks and prints, accept custom commissions, and run art classes and studio sessions. References to “we”, “us”, or “the studio” mean Nias Nyalada Art Studio.
Artworks & product descriptions
Every original artwork is handmade and therefore unique. We make every effort to display our work accurately, but please note:
- Colours may appear differently depending on your screen, lighting, and device settings.
- Slight variations in texture, finish, and size are a natural part of handmade and hand-finished work.
- Prints are reproductions and may differ subtly from the original piece.
Pricing & payment
- All prices are listed in the currency shown at checkout and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Shipping, handling, and any customs duties are additional and are the responsibility of the buyer unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to update prices at any time before a purchase is confirmed.
- An order is confirmed only once full payment (or any agreed deposit) has been received.
Commissions
Custom commissioned work is subject to the following:
- A non-refundable deposit is required before work begins.
- Timelines are estimates and may vary with the complexity of the piece.
- Because each commission is made to your brief, commissions are not eligible for return or refund, except in cases of damage during delivery.
Please see our Return & Refund Policy for full details.
Classes, bookings & sessions
- Places in classes and studio sessions are confirmed once payment is received.
- Rescheduling and cancellation terms will be communicated at the time of booking.
- We may cancel or reschedule a session due to circumstances beyond our control; in such cases you will be offered an alternative date or a refund.
Shipping & delivery
Original artworks are shipped worldwide from Dar es Salaam, securely rolled in protective tubes or suitably packaged. Local collectors are welcome to pick up in person. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by the courier and customs. Risk passes to you once the artwork is delivered or collected.
Returns & refunds
All sales of original and commissioned artworks are final. Returns, replacements, and refunds are handled in line with our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Intellectual property
All artworks, images, text, and designs on this website are the intellectual property of Nias Nyalada Art Studio and are protected by copyright. Purchasing an artwork or print grants you ownership of the physical item only — it does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our work commercially without our prior written permission.
