Art is a voice for the voiceless. ✨🎨 ​In observance of World Autism Awareness Day and to raise understanding of developmental challenges, I would like to introduce Pendo, the daughter of mzee mjilima a farmer in Dodoma. Pendo lives with Down Syndrome. When I met her family, her parents lacked an understanding of this challenge. However, through ' The Hidden Vintage' journey, I was accompanied by my friend, a professional speech therapist. Together, we were able to provide light and guidance on how to live and thrive joyfully with her. Pendo’s smile reminds us that our 'Roots' also include these special children. They need our understanding, not our pity.
